Never Prepared

I had to take Jake to the vet today. He has been having trouble urinating for a couple days. Thinking that it was just a enlarge prostate or maybe bladder/kidney stones. He has been needing neutered for a while but at his age 11, we didn't know if we wanted to put him through that. Anyway, the vet did and ultrasound and found a mass in his belly area and found out that he has a very large spleen and that all of his lymph nodes are huge and the vet couldn't find his bladder..so, after the exam the vet thinks that he might have cancer. Not the new that I was prepared to hear especially, to hear it alone. The vet gave me a couple options for Jake, do a quick biopsy and send it out to the lab, wait until Tuesday of next week for the results(but wouldn't help his urinating problem which if not found out why can lead to other compilations) or do exploratory surgery on him tomorrow and look and see what is going on. So, the vet called Scott told him what was going on and the options then I talked to Scott and we came to the decision to do the surgery. We made the decision that if the vet comes back and tells us bad news that we will bring Jake home and let him live out his years here at his home. They can do chemo but at his age we don't want him to have the remainder of his life sick from all of that. If things take a bad turn for him once he is home then we will cross the bridge when we get there. So, I am asking everyone to please pray for him and us. I will keep everyone informed on what happens tomorrow. Thank you so much.

The Determination of a Pit Bull

Storm had me laughing so hard this morning. Last night a limb fell into her kennel and she was so determined to take it in her house this morning. I couldn't pass up the opportunity to get a few pics of her trying so hard.

Something New

Ok, I finally went to the salon and did something with my hair. I got a hair cut about three inches off and highlighted...the bad new is it is back to curly. My hair is natural wavy anyway. I can wear it like this but, Scott doesn't like it..he likes it curly. So, I wanted to get a pic of it straight for a day..lol..Who knows I might just wear it straight a few times a month anyway. Have a good one!

Munchkin

We just wanted to let all of our family & friends know that our Munchkin passed away last evening. She has been having trouble with her arthritis and other ailments for awhile. She was here with us for 10 years and we loved every minute of it. She leaves us with some of her babies and all wonderful memories. Sassy her rival seems to be missing her. We loved her and we will miss her greatly.

Rest in Peace Munchkin.

Looney Libby

Here are a couple of pics of our Looney Libby. She is a funny girl. Libby loves to play and loves to chew...lol...her favorite thing to do is to launch off of the furniture and run laps around the house.

Going Home

I just wanted to ask all of our friends to keep Scott & I and my family in your prayers. My grandma, Doris passed away on the 14th in the afternoon at her home. I was very close to my grandma and she was a special person to so many. She was a very faithful woman who loved God and was a wonderful servant to him. She taught me so much. She loved to have a good time, she was very outgoing, loved to play bingo and 500 rummy. She never knew a stranger. I will miss her laugh and all of the good heart to heart talks that we shared about life, love and and everything in between. She helped me alot throughout my life and was great rock. She will be missed greatly.

Doris Ann Boyer, 78, of Rushville, died Feb. 14, 2009

Born Sept. 24, 1930 in Rushville, she was the daughter of Daniel Keith and Wanda (Moore) Heeb. She married Verlin Lee Boyer June 14, 1947; he survives.
Mrs. Boyer worked in nursing several years at Rush Memorial Hospital and Hillside Haven. Years ago she was active in the Rush County Chorus and Presbyterian Church Women United. Recently she was very active in the grandparents program at the Grow & Learn preschool. She was a member of First Church of God and a 10-year breast cancer survivor.
Survivors in addition to her husband include son, Michael (Mary) Boyer of Sarasota, Fla.; daughter, Pamela (James) Bennett of Rushville; brothers, James of Fort Myers, Fla., Richard of Rushville and Billy Bob of Connersville; sisters, Beverly Buhler, Donna and Charlene Anderson, all of Rushville; eight grandchildren; five step grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by two sons, Ronald and Danny; and a brother, Robert.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Moster Mortuary in Rushville with Pastor Joe Ed Shouse officiating. Burial will follow in Arlington East Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the mortuary.
Memorial contributions may be made to Rushville Senior Citizens Center.
