The Ups and Downs of Adoption

Well, as all of you guys know that Scott and I are in the process of adopting two children from the foster care system. Well, things have has there highs and lows. The past few months we have been having trouble with the foster mother of the kids and the case worker and now to add to the pile the girl is having trouble transitioning to us. So, we are praying and waiting until God gives us the answer to either pursue it with the kids or not. I am just asking all of you to pray for us at this time. Thank you and God Bless.

Getting Caught Up....Again

Well, here I am again.....sorry that is has taken me so long to post. Things have been so busy lately around here. I am working for my neighbor as a personal assistant. It is a good job and I am so blessed to have it. Scott is still at Reidmans and meeting with our Minster on Wednesday nights. He just preached last weekend. He did a great job. So, with me working full time and Scott working it doesn't leave much time for anything else. I am also going back to school in January full time.

We had are last home study visit about a month ago. We are now licensed. YEAH! It was a long time but it was worth it. As you all know we are in the process of adopting siblings. Well, we have finally began the transition with them. It has been slow but will increase. As of now we get them on Thursday nights and one day on the weekend. These visits will increase later on this month and they will begin to spend the night on Saturdays. The plan is to have them living here as either our foster kids or adoptive kids after the first of the year. We have a court date December 9th for the termination of parental rights (TPR). We are hoping that it goes through so we can adopt the kids asap. If not they will be our foster kids until the TPR is granted and then we will adopt them. So, needless to say we have been busy gathering things up for their bedrooms and ect. Good friends of ours, Chase and Cassy are assisting in the painting. Cassy is a wonderful artist and is going to do some wonderful things on the walls for the kids. Then we where at our other close friends, Jason and Megan's home last Saturday for dinner with the kids and they informed us that they are going to throw us a adoption shower as soon as we know the exact date that the kids are going to move in. Just to help out with the essentials. God has truly blessed us with such caring, loving and thoughtful friends.

We still have all of the dogs...well, Lucy went back to her owners, the Harrison's. We couldn't be happier for them and her. We are going to New York this weekend to get Gracie back from a kennel. So, things have changed a little with the dogs. Jake goes in later this month to get neutered finally. He has been having some trouble in the prostate area. Autumn has not had any seizures in a very long time ..praise God. All the rest of the clan is doing fine.

Our families are doing great. Scott's father is doing so much better than he was months ago. Things are getting back to normal with all of the family issues.

Well, we hope that everything is going great with everyone and God Bless.

Getting Caught Up

Well, here we go on this blogging road. Just a quick post to get everyone caught up on what has been going on with us here lately.

Scott and I have been in the process of getting licensed to become foster/adoption parents. The road has been long but going pretty smooth. We had the first of three visits for the home study. Everything went great. We just have more paperwork to fill out and a few things that we need to do to the home and we will be in the clear. Yeah!

Scott's father has been battling numerous illnesses lately and just recently discharged form the hospital. Good news to report. He is doing so much better. Eating and walking around some. He even took a few drives. So, praise the Lord that he is doing better. God has really worked a miracle on him. We thought that we were going to lose him.

Scott is working for a local Dodge dealer in the parts department. He is still meeting with our Minister once a week for study. I am working as needed as a personal assistant for a neighbor and as a CNA part-time.

We still have the dogs. We are down to eight (8) as of now. Four schnauzers: Autumn, Orrie, Mannie and Ruby. Four pit bulls: Jake, Sassy, Munchkin and Jazzman. I can't forget Fred the cat, too.

My family is doing fine. My grandparents are a nutty as ever. My mother has her good and bad days. She is finally getting her sugar under control so the rest will soon follow. My father is waiting for retirement, working on his new project, his corvette.

Well, I guess that sums it all up. Hope everyone has a good night.
